Škoda Octavia vRS

Škoda Octavia vRS
Škoda is a VW company in the Czech Republic.

The Škoda Octavia vRS, in hatchback or wagon, contaians a 200-hp 2.0-liter turbo engine with direct fuel injection. 0-62 mph in 7.3 seconds with a top speed of 148 mph.

The new Škoda Octavia is strong, dynamic, and robust - all at the same time. The front part of this exceptionally compact vehicle’s body is dominated by energetically slanted curve, newly designer headlights, arched hood over the engine, and typical front mask.

Everybody can easily tell a Škoda from other vehicles by its “face” – the Octavia is no exception. Wide fenders accentuate the vehicle’s nobleness and reliability.

Volkswagen Cabriolet-Coupé Eos

Volkswagen Cabriolet-Coupé Eos
New Volkswagen Cabriolet-Coupé Is Called Eos

The name Eos refers to the Greek goddess of the dawn and evokes associations with an idealised cabriolet driving situation – in the early minutes of a summer day. Phonetically, Eos is a quick, clear name which is easy to say all over the world.

The Eos concept continues to draw on Greek mythology. If you believe the Greek myth, the goddess Eos rose with her chariot from the depths of the sea to bring the people daylight every morning. Eos is also the mother of the wind and of the evening and morning star. Dawn, wind, stars – this all fits in perfectly with driving a fascinating cabriolet.

The Eos body concept was not derived from a closed-top model, it was developed as an independent cabriolet-coupé. Fundamental technology such as the engine range (85 kW / 115 PS to 184 kW / 250 PS) and the running gear can all be traced back to the new Passat. Dr. Wolfgang Bernhard, Member of the Board of Management with responsibility for the Volkswagen brand, will unveil the Eos at the International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt on 12 September 2005 at 11 a.m.

Golf R32

Golf R32
Volkswagen Golf R32

Similar to its predecessor, the new top Golf has a design and equipment all of its own. The Golf R32 has a top speed of 250 km/h and comes either with a 6-speed manual gearbox or the optional dual clutch gearbox (DSG). Equipped with the DSG the "R32" is even faster: 6.2 instead 6.5 seconds from 0-100 km/h. Despite all this, the model is unusually easy to handle.

From the front, the new R32 generation is immediately recognisable by its unique aluminium-effect shield-shaped radiator grille. At the top of the grille are double aluminium cross struts. Under the number plate there is another central air scoop for the powerful 3.2-litre V6 engine. Two more large openings on each side of the shield-shaped radiator grille are intended for fresh air supply. As opposed to all other Golfs, there are air ducts at the bottom and on either side of the fully painted front bumper. The lines of the air duct continue into the side skirt all the way along to the rear bumper.

Audi Q7 petrol-hybrid

Audi Q7 petrol-hybrid

Audi has been talking about hybrids and this week at the 2005 International Motor Show in Frankfurts it showed off its first hybrid vehicle powered by an FSI direct-injection petrol engine. The Audi Q7 hybrid concept study is equipped with a 4.2-litre FSI V8 drive unit that takes up the entire engine compartment. The battery is housed beneath the luggage compartment floor at the rear of the car.

No Audi would be complete without quattro permanent four-wheel drive. Power is directed to the wheels through a 6-speed tiptronic transmission. Fuel consumption figures of just 12.0 litres per 100 kilometres, nearly 13 percent less than the standard-production model: hey, we're in Europe; you figure out the U.S. version.

The Q7 has solar cells integrated in the glass sunroof, using sunlight as yet another source of energy. This allows the ventilation and air conditioning systems to be operated when the vehicle is parked. One can also activate the climate control system remotely a few minutes before getting in the car, so that passengers find a pleasantly cool interior awaiting them. Part of the battery capacity of the hybrid drive system is used in order to achieve this.

Mercedes-Benz Ml63 Amg To Make World Debut At Frankfurt

All-New Performance SUV Delivers 503 Horsepower

Affalterbach, Germany – Mercedes-Benz has released the first pictures of the all-new ML63 AMG prior to its world debut at the 61st International Motor Show (IAA) in Frankfurt Germany on September 12. The ML63 AMG also celebrates the debut of the all-new AMG-developed 6.3-liter V8 engine, providing a unique combination of high-revving power in a large displacement engine. The newest addition to the AMG lineup will make its U.S. retail debut in Spring 2006.

Distinguished as the first unique engine developed entirely by AMG, the new 6.3-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine produces an astonishing 503 horsepower at 6,800 rpm and maximum torque of 465 lb.-ft. at 5,200 rpm. The 6.3-liter V8 also features four valves per cylinder and four continuously variable overhead camshafts to ensure maximum performance in all driving situations. When compared to the preceding ML55 AMG, the new ML63 AMG generates 46 percent more output and 23 percent more torque. This powerful engine is mated to an AMG Speedshift 7-speed automatic transmission with a Direct Select shift lever mounted by the steering wheel. Three shift modes (Sport, Comfort and Manual) can be selected via a switch in the center console, and vary shift characteristics to suit different driving situations.

Mercedes-Benz new S-Class

Mercedes-Benz new S-Class
The new S-Class will be taking centre stage at the Mercedes-Benz presentation for the 61st International Motor Show in Frankfurt (15 to 25 September 2005). The motor show will see the world premiere of this luxury saloon, which features around a dozen pioneering innovations that will make it the benchmark for future passenger car developments. Other new products which Mercedes-Benz will be presenting to the public for the first time are the European version of the R-Class and the ML 63 AMG high-performance off-roader.

The new S-Class that will be hitting showrooms at Mercedes-Benz dealerships and sales partners this autumn will boast unparalleled levels of safety and comfort as its hallmarks. The saloon can be equipped with the latest technology for accident prevention, including the anticipatory Brake Assist PLUS, the DISTRONIC PLUS proximity-controlled cruise control and the Night Vision system. Mercedes-Benz combines these innovations with the preventive occupant safety system PRE-SAFE® to create a unique safety system, which goes into action before a threatening accident has a chance to happen.

Mercedes-Benz Vision R63 Concept

Mercedes-Benz new S-Class

An advanced prototype close to series-production, the R63 take the new Mercedes-Benz R-Class, the Grand Sports Tourer to a higher level. Powered by the completely new, 100 percent AMG-specific 6.3-liter V8 engine with an output of 375 kW/503 hp and a maximum torque of 465 lb.-ft. it screams AMG.

A seven speed permanently engaged all-wheel drive that gets 0-60 in 5 seconds had better have 21 inch AMG wheels and a high-performance braking system, and it does. As long as you're getting everything else AMG might as well add on the AMG sports chassis and Airmatic air suspension with the adaptive damping system. Hold on to your wallet, it will be pricey, but if you have to ask the price...

Jeep Patriot Concept

Jeep Patriot Concept
Jeep Patriot Concept: A Modern Interpretation of Classic Jeep Styling

Strong and capable, the Patriot concept is unmistakably Jeep, designed to appeal to compact SUV buyers who want traditional Jeep styling with best-in-class off-road capability. Jeep Patriot is rugged, exuding the brand’s key attributes of mastery, authenticity, freedom and adventure, but would still offer exceptional fuel economy, interior flexibility and utility at a great value.

Expect the 2008 Jeep Patriot to be competitive with vehicles around $15,000, which woulld be the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Kia Sportage. The 2.4-liter I-4 with continuoulsy variable transmission (CVT) would be for the U.S. market, while the 2.0-liter turbocharged, direct-injection diesel would go to the European market.

“Simple, geometric forms and planar surfaces define Jeep Patriot’s timeless, purpose-built design,” said Creed. “Patriot’s face features Jeep’s signature seven-slot grille, a robust bumper, round headlamps, raised, free-standing fog lamps and a visible skid plate. All of this gives Jeep Patriot its robust, strong, capable off-road image.”

Painted Armour Green with black door handles, body-side moldings, black accents, dark tinted windows and a stiffer windshield, Jeep Patriot would be built for maximum cargo volume, rugged driving conditions and excellent utility. Four doors and a rear liftgate provide easy access to the Jeep Patriot concept’s spacious and functional interior.

Classic Jeep design cues include aggressive 17-inch off-road wheels and tires housed inside signature Jeep trapezoidal wheel openings. These combine with a raised roof rack that can hold additional gear to provide a no-nonsense, functional statement. Jeep Patriot’s higher beltline completes the vehicle’s protective profile.

The rear of the vehicle features an upright backlight and a bold bumper that further illustrate the Jeep Patriot concept’s interior spaciousness and add to its rugged appearance and capability.

Jeep Patriot not only looks like a Jeep, but all-new Jeep off-road technology would ensure Jeep Patriot could be a Trail Rated 4x4, which would make it the most capable vehicle in its class.

Jeep Compass Concept

Jeep Compass Concept: A New Type of Jeep in a Contemporary Package

Sleek and sophisticated with a rally car toughness, the Jeep Compass concept would deliver Jeep fun, freedom and capability, broadening the global appeal of Jeep and attracting new buyers who might not have previously considered the brand.

“The Jeep Compass concept is an all-new kind of Jeep,” Creed said. “Compact and nimble, the Jeep Compass concept is the right size for world markets and would offer performance, fuel economy and value in the highly competitive compact SUV segment.”

True to Jeep’s signature design cues, the Jeep Compass concept features the brand’s signature seven-slot grille, round headlamps, large and capable fog lights and trapezoidal wheel openings.

A steeply raked windshield, an expressive hood, low-to-the ground stance, deep fascia, wire mesh grille texture and prominent lower intake give the Jeep Compass concept a powerful and capable appearance.

The Jeep Compass concept’s side profile is highly sculptured. Powerful fender forms exaggerate the Jeep Compass concept’s athletic stance, performance 19-inch wheels and red-line tires.

From the rear, a roof-mounted spoiler completes the Jeep Compass performance message. The deep fascia is uniquely styled to accommodate a large chrome dual exhaust system, which also reinforces an aggressive, performance-oriented character.
