Laurens van den Acker is chief designer of Ford Motor Company's Brand Imaging Group (BIG), an internal design think tank, that is involved in advanced design projects as well as strategic brand development. Projects of the Brand Imaging Group include Ford 427 & Model U, both shown at the 2003 Detroit Motorshow, the Ford MA, which made its debut in the Los Angeles Museum of Contemporary Art in November 2002 and the Ford 24.7 concept cars, which were shown in Detroit in January 2000.
Laurens van den Acker has a Master's degree in Industrial Design from Delft, University of Technology and has worked for several automotive companies in Europe and the US, including Audi, Ford Motor Company, Volvo and Volvo Trucks.
