The 2007 Lexus GS 450h hybrid luxury sedan made its production debut at the 39th Tokyo Motor Show in Makuhari Messe, Makuhari, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. The New 2007 Lexus GS 450h Hybrid Luxury Vehicle made its world debut in New York on March 23, 2005 at the New York International Auto Show. The first hybrid-powered luxury sedan has an internal combustion engine that sports a 4.5-liter V-8 engine with combined fuel economy more typical of a 2-liter, 4-cylinder, compact sedan. The Lexus GS 450h is expected to be certified as a super ultra low-emission vehicle (SULEV). It will come to market in spring 2006.
The GS450h premium sedan with a new hybrid system has a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout and aimed at the person who doesn't want to give up performance while achieving new levels of superior environmental emissions.
A 3.5-liter V-6 gasoline engine fitted with the new D-4S fuel injection system couples with a high-output electric motor in pursuit of providing 2.0-liter class fuel economy and the output of a 4.5-liter engine, pointing to the direction of powertrains required for premium vehicles.
The GS450h uses cutting-edge technology, such as VDIM, which stabilizes the vehicle's movement, and a Pre-crash Safety System that reacts in accordance with the direction of the driver's face.
An electronically controlled, six-speed automatic transmission relays the power in this rear-drive vehicle. The new GS is 4,825mm in total length, 1,820mm in total width and 1,430mm in total height.Seating Capacity is for five adults.
