The all-new 2007 Nissan Altima, which builds on the previous generation Altima's reputation as the design and dynamic leader in class, makes its world debut at the 2006 New York International Auto Show. The new Altima is one of five new or refined vehicles Nissan is introducing for the 2007 model year. The others are the new flagship Nissan Maxima, which is also being shown for the first time in New York; the all-new larger, more powerful Nissan Sentra; the all-new entry-level Nissan Versa sedan and hatchback; and the Nissan Quest, which features refined styling and a greatly revised interior.
Along with its distinctive styling, the new fourth generation Altima utilizes an all-new Nissan "D" platform with improved body rigidity and a redesigned suspension that is targeted at making Altima one of the best performing large front-wheel drive sedans in the world. The new Altima also offers Nissan's advanced Xtronic CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) and a choice of the award-winning VQ-series 3.5-liter V6 or powerful 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engines. Both engines have significant performance enhancements for use in the all-new Altima.
The new 2007 Maxima features a redesigned appearance with a new front grille and revised hood, headlights, front and rear bumpers, side sills and wheels, and a new interior with upgraded materials, improved controls and revised instrument panel. The advanced Xtronic CVT transmission is now standard on all models.
"The New York Auto show is the first opportunity for customers to see these new 2007 Nissans together," said Brad Bradshaw, vice president and general manager, Nissan Division. "Our new sedan lineup is especially exciting, with all four vehicles either completely new or greatly revised and all available with our smooth, efficient-performing CVT transmissions."
The all-new 2007 Nissan Versa represents a dynamic new alternative to current entry-level hatchbacks and sedans. Built on Nissan's proven B-platform, the stylish Versa offers a spacious cabin with exceptional rear legroom, a high quality interior and comfortable, stress-free environment. Versa is available with a standard 122-horsepower 1.8-liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine.
With the addition of the new Versa, the all-new sixth generation Nissan Sentra moves up, offering more style, space, quality, performance and interior flexibility for active lifestyles. Built on Nissan's new "C" platform, the 2007 Sentra features an all-new, standard 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, and thoughtful features, including a 60/40 split double-fold rear seat, available hidden trunk storage compartment and available integrated overhead compact disc holder, leather-appointed seating and Intelligent Key keyless entry system.
The new Nissan Quest, which has been redesigned from the inside out, offers new levels of quality, innovation, performance and style for 2007 with a totally redesigned instrument panel, new auto-folding 3rd row headrests and features such as a new center console (available with the Technology Package) and available Bluetooth Hands-Free Phone System, dual 8-inch DVD screens, in-dash CD6 autochanger with MP3 playback and auxiliary audio input, SkyView glass paneled rood, RearView Monitor and Rear Sonar System.
