2019 Nissan Rogue Sport

Going Rogue in a sport motif

Lou Ann Hammond, Wed, 05 Jun 2019 02:41:31 PDT

Nissan Rogue Sport adds several significant enhancements for the 2019 model year - led by the addition of available ProPILOT Assist, Nissan Safety Shield 360 technology, an updated audio system with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and available Bose Audio System with nine speakers.

Nissan's innovative Rear Door Alert system is now standard on all grade levels and one new exterior color, Scarlet Ember Tintcoat, is also added. A revision was made to the Contents of the SV Technology Package and SL Premium Package.

The 2019 Rogue Sport is offered in front-wheel and Intelligent All-Wheel Drive configurations, and in three well-equipped grade levels - S, SV, and SL.

Again in 2019, Rogue Sport shares many of the design, utility, and technology attributes that have made Rogue Nissan's best-selling vehicle in the United States. Rogue Sport is slightly smaller, sportier and more affordable for younger, urban SUV buyers than Rogue. These buyers are looking for much more space than a compact sedan, while still seeking the maneuverability and fun-to-drive feel that Rogue Sport delivers.

As fitting of the Rogue Sport name, its fun-to-drive performance credentials by a combination of a 141-horsepower 2.0-liter DOHC 16-valve inline 4-cylinder engine, Xtronic transmission with Eco Mode switch and a 4-wheel independent suspension.

ProPILOT Assist is a single-lane "hands-on" driving assistance technology that eases driver workload by reducing the amount of driver acceleration, steering and braking input under certain driving conditions, such as single-lane highway driving. ProPILOT Assist is standard on the 2019 Rogue Sport SL grade and optionally available on the Rogue Sport SV.

Nissan Safety Shield 360, which helps provide front, side, and rear safety monitoring and intervention technologies, is part of the Nissan Intelligent Mobility strategy. Safety Shield 360 includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, Lane Departure Warning (LDW), radar-based Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) and High Beam Assist (HBA). It is standard on Rogue Sport SV and SL grades.

Available technology includes NissanConnect with Navigation, NissanConnect Services powered by SiriusXM (SiriusXM subscription required, sold separately), 7.0-inch color touch-screen display, SiriusXM Travel Link and SiriusXM Traffic (SiriusXM subscription required, sold separately).

Other features include standard RearView Monitor, Bluetooth Hands-free Phone System, Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant, Streaming audio via Bluetooth and available Remote Engine Start2, Intelligent Around View Monitor (I-AVM), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Intelligent Lane Intervention (I-LI).
